How to monitor Cisco transceivers with DOM support?

How can I generate a custom poller to poll my optical transceiver with DOM (digital optical monitoring).

I want to monitor the Optical Rx/Tx Power on the transceiver.

In the Cisco IOS CLI I can type "show interfaces gigabitEthernet 1/3 transceiver" and get this information, but it would be great to see this information in NPM to generate alarms etc.

Use the Cisco MIB Locator to find the OID you need, and then build your UnDP for the OID you find there. For more information, see "Monitoring MIBs with Universal Device Pollers" in the SolarWinds Orion NPM Administrator Guide.

Curious if you have this working? I have updated my cisco ios to support cisco-entity-sensor-mib and updated the mib's in the NPM. Also built the undp per doc's. What I'm getting is "No Data for selected time period" no matter how I edit the settings. Thanks.

I can't find a way to make this work with UDP's. The entity MIB refers to unique numbers that are not the same as the ifIndex ID that is used by the Interfaces. I'm sure there is a way solarwinds could make this work, but there doesn't appear to be a way to do it with UDP's. The values are stored in enitySensorMIB (entSensorValue 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.91.1.1.1.1.4 specifically). You need to look at entSensorType (1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.91.1.1.1.1) for type 14. The way you figure out interface you are looking at is by looking at entSensorMeasuredEntity (1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.91.1.1.1.1.8) and match that with entPhysicalTable to figure out which interface you are looking at. As far as I can tell there is no way to grab the label from one table and the value from another?
