Merging NPM and IPAM Databases

Question

Hi All

We currently have 2 separate servers and 2 separate databases, one for IPAM and one for NPM/NCM.

I found out when I did the last upgrade that if you have everything on one server/database, you can access all of it from the one web interface instead of using 2 separate ones.

So my question is: I know that you can't easily merge 2 NPM instances together, but can you merge NPM and IPAM databases into one, or will I need to have one new database with all of them and re-create from scratch?

Due to overlapping values merging the two would be challenging to say the least.  The simplest method is most likely to export all your subnets and such from the old IPAM instance, install an IPAM demo on the NPM/NCM instance, import the subnets into that, go through the old one and new one basically side by side setting up all your credentials and any customized reports/alerts etc you had.  Once the new one is good you can remove the license from the old one and apply it to the new instance and decom the old server.
