I noticed you can buy old Orion 7.x oem software for a couple of hundread bucks. if this come with a 1 year maintenance license, will solarwinds support it?

That version is no longer supported. Here is a list of currently supported versions-

dont remember the exact site or price, thought it might be worth a pop for testing purposes, even though it is not supported anymore.
OK, so you dont let other distributors sell old software? Good thing I didn't buy it then.
