BEWARE of Patch v10.2.1

Question

I decided this morning to apply patch v10.2.1 to my existing v10.2 Orion NPM to take advantage of a documented fix.

Bad move.  I'm down all morning and support is still looking into this.  Don't know what the problem is yet, but the installation note was very simple- replace 2 DLL files.  Engineer said there is no rollback procedure.  Upon loggin into web ui, I get this:

There was an error communicating with the Orion server

There was no endpoint listening at net.tcp://anpwsmg3:17777/orion/core/businesslayer that could accept the message. This is often caused by an incorrect address or SOAP action. See InnerException, if present, for more details.

My fault.  The installation note did indicate that I must be on Orion NPM v10.2.1.   I installed the hotfix on Orion NPM v10.2.  I thought the the hotfix would take me to v10.2.1.

Sorry for the confusion.  I think an installation program would have avoided this, rather to have an end-use go and manually replace files.

I assumed NPM 10.2.1 is for NPM 10.2.  Anyway, thanks for chiming in.  My case is 313251.  Thanks!

I don't know the details of your case, but we did have a few customers who installed the recent Hotfix (HF) and had this issue. The HF was designed for NPM 10.2.1 but people were installing it on 10.2. We just released the NPM 10.2.2 service release and it includes all fixes that were available in the HF.
