Silent Event Forwarder Install

Has anyone been able to make a MST that will silently install, and configure the Event Forwarder? Im looking to push this to all the systems on our network using a GPO.

I took a quick look at the MSI package with Orca, and did not see how the configuration variables are passed into the installer. I'm hoping that it will be as simple as editing a few tables of the MSI, and saving those changes as a MST file.

I also contacted support on this, and said they have not tried yet, and it would not be supported. I would think the development team should be able to do this pretty quickly. Maybe they could make a small MST creator that you could put in how you would want the Event Forwarder configured, and it would create the MST file for you. Hey one can dream right?

Anyway just wanted to see if anyone had done this before I go trying to re-create the wheel.

This would be very helpfull. I have to push this to over 500 server and really do not want to to a manual install on every one.

Same here. Been trying to transform the MSI but it does not work. Tried removing the call to launch the event forwarder config and the install does not work. Had hoped to have the install work without calling the config exe and then have it place the config file that i have already created to no avail. Anyone hear from Solarwinds yet?
