NPM Summary View

I have a little issue with my NPM summary page. I created a
new user and customized a page for the user to be able to view network map
alone. Unfortunately, I discovered that the map is now the summary page for all
users that logon to the orion application.

I tried to customized the page back to default by adding all
nodes, but I discovered that the nodes are not arranged as it should be. Before
now, I have the “All down nodes’ by Region, city, office location. The same
applies for ‘All nodes’

Pls kindly find attached

Please how do I revert back to make other users see what
their initial summary page was.

I agree with Deltona, it is best to leave the default pages alone and make copies that you edit. If someone needs a custom view I copy the existing view that is closest to their desired view then adjust the new copy as needed. After it is setup I assign that view as the default in their account.

Related to the specific issue of the nodes not arranged in groups, you can try to add a resource that does offer the grouping. (It may not be exactly as it was but you may find it to be close enough)

Steps to add a groupable All Nodes list:

Click Settings in the upper right Orion (Orion Admin)
In the Views section click Manage Views
Select the view you want to change then click Edit
To the right of the column you want to add the All Nodes list to, click, + (Add resource)
Expand the Nodes List group then select the check box for All Nodes – Tree (AJAX)
Click Submit

You can then use the Preview button to test view the new resource.

You will need to use the Edit button in the resource to set the grouping order.

To adjust who sees which view, you may need to change the effected account’s Default Menu Bar and Views section. (you should be able to select multiples and adjust them all at once).

I am not sure if this will work but…

If you really want to try something crazy, you could install a trial version of SolarWinds to a test box then copy the “SummaryView.aspx” and “SummaryView.aspx.cs” in the inetpub\solarwinds\orion folder from the trial system to your other one. If you decide to try that be sure to make a backup of the original files before you do, or better yet if it is a VM take a snapshot.

Hi there,

It looks like you modified the default Summary Home view. You should have made a copy of it, renamed the copy, and worked on that instead.

If all the other users are using Orion Summary Home as their default view then you'll have to modify the view back to how it was. There's no revert option.

Remember to take copies of default views before editing them. Go to Settings, Manage Views, find "Orion Summary Home" and click Copy. You should then be able to find "Copy of Orion Summary Home" view in the same list.

When you create a new view that you wish to assign to a user's home view, do it through the Manage Accounts section in Settings. Edit a user and select the appropriate view in the drop down boxes.
