Importing icons into Network Atlas

I've been creating maps for several years now but all of a sudden am not able to see any of the icons I have created in Network Atlas. I pulled the icons from Visio, opened them in MS paint to edit colors and crop to size, and saved them as GIF's. Followed the standard directions (%APPDATA%...maps\orion\netobjects...etc.) as i've done in the past. When I open Network Atlas and try to assign the graph, out of nearly 100 icons created only one is visible. Never seen this happen before. I've gone through many of the discussions here and have double checked the Admin guides and they all pretty much say how to create the icons (GIF or WMF) and where to put them. I've followed the directions.

Has anyone ran into this issue? Anyone have an idea on what might be causing it? I've attached a couple of the GIFs; Server-up.gif and server-down.gif Neither are available when I try to use them.

Sometimes it's the basic stuff. Again, looking in the Admin guide it simply states that

"You can use any Windows Media File (.wmf) or Graphics Interchange Format

(.gif) format graphic as a custom icon, but you must name the graphic files

according to their roles. The file name must not contain any other dash

characters other than depicted in this table."

It then shows you all of the roles (i.e. -up, -down, etc.) In that table there is also an "Icon with no status" which is just the equipment name.GIF

I noticed that the one icon that I was seeing was the only one with no-status, so I went in and removed -up from all of the icons, leaving them as no-status icons. When I went in to Network Atlas I now see all of my created icons with all of the status' I had created for them.

Checked my old created icons and there are none that have no status, but they all work. They must have carried over with the upgrade.

Have you tried opening Atlas and connecting to your Orion instance with an account that has full admin rights? Shouldn't make a jot of difference, but thought I'd get the obvious suggestion out of the way first

Also, has anything changed recently? Perhaps you've installed an Orion or NPM upgrade/hotfix recently?

One final thought. Check the file attributes of the icons that are working. Perhaps something is amiss with the ones you've used previously.

Thanks for the reply. I don't mind checking the obvious stuff. I'm thinking it is something basic that I overlooked.

I am logged into the server with full admin rights.

Yes, I did upgrade from NPM 11.0.1 to 11.5.1 and NTA 4.0.3 to 4.1.2 and this is the first I've needed to work on the maps since then.

Checked file attributes and see no difference between the old icons and the new ones I am trying to use now. The only difference I see is that the only new icon that works is the one without a '-' (as in -up, or -down, etc).

I'll keep looking and hope I can figure it out.
