Generic Device Mac Address

Question

has anyone done any type of custom poller that will pull the mac address of the device itself?  I know I can do this from a Cisco switch, but I am looking for node specific info.

for example, we have over 900 AXIS IP based video cameras around our network.  I would like to have the MAC address of each camera shown on its node details page, just like the IP address, etc.

Has that been done for axis?

There is a standard SNMP OID for pulling the mac addresses of all the interfaces on the device.  The table is 1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.6 but you might have better luck if you do a get against 1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.6.1 specifically (assuming the first entry on the table is the correct nic interface, you may have to play with that some)
