Orion v8.1 requirements

Question

With the release of v8.1, I know that Win2k server is NOT supported.  Only XP and Win2k3+ is supported.  This means my Win2k server is left high and dry.  I have a license for XP sitting around and will probably reformat my server into an XP box.  My question is: how long until XP is not supported and I have to do this all over again?  Should I spend a couple hundred dollars and get a server license now, or will XP be fine for a while???  -Scott

XP is not officially supported.

I know there's a message that pops up when you try to install on Win2k that mentions XP and Win2k3.  That's a mistake. System requirements are spelled out in a couple of places:

Now, that said, Orion will generally work on XP.  The fact that it is not officially supported means that if call Support and we find an XP-specific bug, we won't fix it.  We'll ask you to upgrade to Windows Server.

We don't support XP because it is a desktop OS, and Orion is an enterprise-level server product.  For the same reason, we will not support Vista, but we will support Windows Server 2008.

So you guys will support XP as a platform for Orion until the "Mainstream Support" runs out in Apr 2009?
