Install NPM on Virtual Machine?

Question

Can NPM and its Standby be installed onto virtual machines?

Also how can you stop NPM or any of it's modules just opening on the installation server without any

additional username. We just want to add more security to the installation if we can.

Has anyone seen any specific security whitepapers from solarwinds?

Yes, Orion 8.1 supports installation on a 2003 Virtual server and requirements for this server are the same as a physical server. As for the security white papers there are not any available at this time. What  specific  type of security information are you  seeking? For the installation you can have the Windows Admin. move the All Users to the Administrators folder, if that helps lock it down.
