Blackberry running on Orion server?

Question

In the version 9 Administrator's guide, SW states that it does not recommend or support running Orion on a server that is also running RIM Blackberry.

For my edification, what are the technical issues that have been encountered that resulted in that statement?

If you're not running NetFlow or other modules, SQL Express will probably be fine.

I am facing an issue with this topic as well.  There are two quotes from the Quick Start Guide that present complication for my environment:

"Note: SolarWinds neither recommends nor supports the installation of Orion NPM on the same server or using the same database server as a Research in Motion (RIM) Blackberry server. "" (p. 8)

"Due to its inherent limitations, SolarWinds recommends against the use of SQL Express in production environments." (p. 12)

We have one corporate SQL server on which the BES database will soon be installed.  Instead of having to build a completely separate SQL server, can NPM's database be put in its own named instance on the corporate SQL server? Otherwise, with a 250 item license, will SQL Express be sufficient?

I'm afraid I don't have details.  In a previous release, we found major incompatibilities and determined that the work required for co-existence was too great and the need to limited to justify the work.  That's not to say that no one would benefit from it, but given limited resources, we determined that we could provide features that would be valuable to far more users.  Once we made that decision, we moved on and didn't document the peculiarities of the RIM server.
