When adding a node, I am always a little confused about the checkbox by "Volume Utilization".
Question: Does selecting "volume utilization" include all volumes below it even the ones that appear at sometime in the future ?
I don't think it will always automagically add new volumes or changes to volumes. There have been a few threads reguarding servers volumes having the blue question mark next to them due to a disk change, volume ID change, LUN change, etc.
Cgregors,
Selecting voluume utilization will only include all volumes below it. Its like a select all check box for all current volumes. It will not include volumes that appear in the future as Orion will not add in nodes, interfaces, or volumes on the fly.
The "Volume Utilization" check box functions solely as a "Select All"/"De-select All" option for ease of use when adding servers with a large number of volumes. You can even use it to"select all" and then un-check/de-select the volumes you don't wish to monitor. Whichever is easier, but it's simply for convenience. Hope this helps.
