Basic & Advanced Alerts are formatted completely differently in the database. Changing one field here or there will not do the trick...
FYI, Basic alerts are defined in the Alerts & AlertActions tables and advanced alerts in AlertDefinitions & ActionDefinitions...
You should plan to move the alerts on few days, weeks if you need the features of the advanced alert. I suppose that you probably won't have to move all of them at once.
PaulD,
I believe that is possible using the Alert Escalation tab in the send E-Mail/Page window in your Trigger Actions page. The bottom frame has a check box stating "Delay the execution of this Alert." If you check that box, you can set an amount of time that Orion will wait after the trigger condition is met before sending the email.
Hope this helps.
Another solution could be to use the "Do not trigger this action until the condition exists for more than..." in the Trigger Condition tab of the Advanced Alert at the bottom.
This setting is not only specific to one action. Both solutions can work...
we configured basic alerts and forgot about existance of Advanced alers.Mentioned options are available only in Advanced alerts.thanks for pointing me to this.
Derived question, it it possible to convert Basic alert to Advanced?
I have bunch of Basic alerts, converting them to Advanced mannualy will be nightmare.

There is no utility to convert Basic to advanced alerts...You will have to do it manually :-/ .
