Can anyone advise on the best way to configure the MERU controllers with thin APs?
I am trying to discover 4 controllers with around 50 APs each and not having any joy. I have snmp community strings defined on the controllers, but still no joy.
Discovered the cause to my issue.
The controllers needed the snmp service restarted, had no idea you could do this. Anyway as the saying goes "you learn something new everyday"
Cheers for all the help Brandon
For grins, what happens if you manually add one of the controllers, does it start monitoring properly?
I have moved one of the controllers onto the same subnet as my orion box [therefore no firewalls etc to possibly block the snmp traffic]. I can add the controller ok with ICMP only, but if I try to add it manually with the SNMP strings that I have set on the controller it just fails.
I have tried setting the Meru controller SNMP strings with 0.0.0.0 as the requesting device [0.0.0.0 = any host according to meru] and I have also set the requesting IP as the IP of my orion server and it still fails.
It's a strange one
That is odd. We are monitoring Meru's network with NPM, as they assisted us in the integration.
Could you open a support ticket with them on the SNMP side of the Controller?
Maybe im missing something is there any specific settings you guys have on the controllers? apart from just creating SNMP community strings.
Can these be monitored in 10.0 SP1 or only in 10.1?
Only 10.1
