The organization I work for has been using Orion for the past 3 years. We are overall very pleased with Orion NPM product but what I want to know is why is there no better integration between the NPM application features?
When I say this I am talking in terms of having to go to the "Custom Property Editor" application and "Active Alert" application feature after I have already went through the process of adding a node through network discovery. I feel it Orion NPM would be a more seamless application if as soon as you do network discovery for a node and in that same interface it also has options to add "Active Alerts" and "Custom Property Editor" while you are adding the nodes physical options as well. It would be even greater if the options for adding "Active Alerts" and "Custom Property Editor" were drop down boxes that populated with existing active alerts to choose from or if there must be a new one created then when the user chosses new, only then does the "Active Alerts" application feature pop up, the same goes with "Custom Property Editor" except I feel that you can actually have it that users can create new fields in the "Custom Property Editor" drop down box as well as populate with choices that already exist.
You guys have a great product but there is definitely a lot of work that needs to get done in the seamless integration department. Please strongly consider these suggestion in your next release development for Orion NPM, it would make administrating it almost painless when it came that.
