Nodes Up showing Down, but interfaces showing Up

Question

The problem is that I can't ping to the nodes(Cisco Catalyst 2926R, Cisco Catalyst 295024 C)  from the server. I can add them for monitoring with a SNMP community and the interfaces too, but I got the node added in Down status. Does anyone have the same problem? The running configuration in the switches is OK.

You may want to check DNS assignments (forward and reverse) also, especially if they are small remote sites involved.

Could it be a duplicate ip address somewhere on the network?

Our Communications and Networks team is checking the configuration of the routers and switches, because I can ping those nodes form other locations, our ACL's are correctly configurated for SNMP and no ICMP is blocked. We executed the command "pathping xx.xx.xx.xx" and we noticed that the packets were routed to other places different from where they had to do it.
