Tweaks in Web Node Management in 9.5 SP4

Since we launched 9.5 we have had several conversations regarding web node management vs. System Manager here on thwack. With 9.5 SP4, we made some tweaks and introduced paging, which you can see below and example. What do you think? Are you seeing a difference in performance and load time of nodes/interfaces in this view?

I really like it. Mainly due to the speed increse. It seems to load the list of nodes much faster.

I haven't had a chance to install SP4 yet but I do have a question. Are the checkmarks saved across pages? IE: If I need to check 3 devices on page 1, 5 on page 2, and 1 on page 3, can I do it in one process or will have to do it in 3 processes?

I just tested this functionality, and it does not remember the the checkbox selections across multiple pages.

What a downer. But its still a good feature. The increased speed makes up for this short fall, in my opinion.

You can change the number of devices that are displayed on each page. It seems that there is a limit of 250 devices per page.

I tested this on my system and the node list still loads very fast, even with 250 devices listed on one page.

But still, they ability to remember checkbox selections across multiple pages would be nice.

I have tried that, and you will have to do it in 3 processes.

Great work on this one!

If you wanted to select all of the object across all of the pages this is possible. Good option! It would also be nice to select a few from different pages like the others are talking about.

It does seem much faster.

While you're looking at things, I think it could be helpful if either of these two things were available:

1. Searching within the grouping (being able to search outside of it is still needed.)
2. More complex searches, search by node and interface as an example.

Great work! now my browsers (Chrome, Firefox and IE) doesn't hang anymore and doesn't show this error message

Haven't moved to 9.5 yet, but can ayone tell me how long it takes to load 7,338 Nodes from a single vendor?

Great work! Speed is up and I like the simple way of changing the page size. Also, reading about the update, I like that it should delete the temp files that fill the drive due to linked backgrounds.

Heh. It should load as fast as you have your page size set at.

I did notice one thing. I hadn't played with the "Group By" setting much as I usually searched for devices to find them since it was much quicker. Now that we have the paging, I've been using it more to enable the unplugged feature. I've seen cases where it still takes a long time to load if I select the "wrong" group by option. For instance, if I select group by location it lists every one of the locations we have which is much higher than vendor.

Yeah it should load faster.... have a setup with these number of elements:

Network Elements	22840
Nodes	464
Interfaces	22355
Volumes	21

yeah, mine loads much faster now, and unmanging and manging nodes is much faster
