Overview web view is blank?

I'm wondering if anyone else has run across this - the out of the box "OverView" view in the web interface returns a blank page. It does include the orion logo, menubar and footer - just the OverView main section is completely blank. No errors that I've found anywhere - in the event log or weblog file. This is 8.5.1 sp3, nothing else appears to be wrong. Has anyone else seen this or know what might cause this?

Here is a possible solution for this issue. Try increasing the asp buffer size.

Go into the properties of IIS and check "Enable Direct Metabase Edit" this will allow direct edit of Metabase.xml without restarting IIS. After this is done, you need to determine the combined size of the Nodes and Interfaces table, convert this information to bytes (example 500 kb = 5000000 bytes).

- Use Orion Database Manager
- Connect to your Database server, and expand "NetPerfMon".
- Locate the "Nodes" and "Interfaces" tables and double click to bring up their properties.
- Note down the "Total Space Usage" values, add them and convert them to bytes.
- If this number is greater than 4194304, then this could be the cause of the issue you are having - this figure is the default ASP buffering limit.

Round up the number you have calculated for the Nodes and Interfaces tables size. (ex: if your value comes out at 6226000 use 6300000 or even 7000000)

Once done, you then need to edit the Metabase.xml file for "Set AspBufferingLimit= " By default this is at 4194304. Afterwards, save the file, and go straight to the webpage. Do not restart IIS or it will overwrite this change back to the default.

I found the file, and like mentioned my number is great then what you posted. I made the changes to my MetaBase.xml and tried to save and it game me an error that I could not replace or overwrite the files since it was in use. I then created a new file named the same thing in a different folder and tried to copy it to the location that it needed to be in. Same error. I stopped the Orion website while I tried to copy the file and still had the same problem.

What other applications or services could be using this file? Thanks in advance.

It figures as soon as I post a question I stumble across the answer myself.

So for those that may find this post later here is the solution to my problem.

IIS by default locks you out from making manual changes the the MetaBase.xml file. Therefor you must go and override that setting before you can make changes. This MS KB should help you get around this.

MetaBase.xml should be in the following folder: C:\WINDOWS\system32\inetsrv

I have the file in that directory, but when I open the file and do a search for AspBufferingLimit, it says text not found. Any ideas why?
