BGP neighbor Custom Table

I have searched and have found things that come close but I just can’t get this to work.

I have a custom table that will display when a BGP connection is down. It shows everything I want except I want to include the interface alias.

I’m sure it’s easy but for some reason I can’t select it, rebuild the table to use it and show the BGP connection, etc.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Post the script you are using for your custom table so we can take a look at helping you to embellish it.

No script. I used this method but when selecting columns, there is no selection for interface alias. It seems SW is configured to only present what is relevant to the source selected but for some reason alias isn’t.

Since the data source is on a ‘router’, I know that information on the interface description/alias is there. (I have tried using interface as the data source and alias is a choice)

IMO I should be able to select a column that says ‘type of sandwich’. If sandwich information isn’t available, the column will just be blank.

I have also tried the SWSQ (?) approach but no joy. I know I’m not doing something correctly with that but I will always keep trying until I have a headache. Point is I have exhausted all possibilities that I am aware of.

I edit the Custom Table with the following. (Images pulled from link in my previous post)

Here is where I chose the columns that will display the information that I want.

Interface Alias is the description of who or what the BGP connects to that I would configure on the router.

This is the end result and what I see when a BGP goes down.

All I want to do is add the interface alias which will indicate what is down.

Basically pull the following and add a column that will display it.

as far as I can see the BGP peer description is not in the IETF BGP-4 MIB:

RFC 4273 - Definitions of Managed Objects for BGP-4

if you need to have additional information about the neighbours then the way i've done that in the past it to look at the neighbour IP address

Aside: if you have external peers you don't want to monitor, then this may have been a good use of an external node type, except you can't record an IP address on an external node...

Where are you doing this SQL? Is this for a custom report?

Are you somehow integrating that into an alert?

Sorry for bumping an old thread, but what is the best way to filter that to only show BGP neighbors from certain nodes AND to ignore specific neighbor IPs? I have done this as a report through the report builder, but am unsure how to do it in a custom query resource with SWQL.
