Changing switch addresses without rediscovering
rdmiller
I have to change the IP addresses on alot of switches. Is there any way to change the IP address in Solarwinds so I do not have to rediscover the devices and tweak them back to the current state?

You should be able to go into "Node Details" and change the IP address there, this will keep teh same Node ID and thefore any configuration and historical data.
I have done it on Windows servers and it works fine, never had to do it on a switch.

Another option would to mark all nodes as "Dynamic IP" on the Node Details screen in System Manager. That way, as long as the DNS entry is correct, polling should carry on without any problems.

If you know SQL maybe you could find the table where all the IP addresses are held and insert them from a text file.
