I have a list of dozens of microwave links in multiple regions I need to report on, alert on and perhaps build views to show real-time stats as a group. These are routers, specific pairs of router interfaces and associated microwave radio pairs. The first thing I want is to see utilization reports. I want to see a list of links, pick a link, see the report, and/or I want to be able to access all the reports on a view, or perhaps to email, print or deliver in some way. I'd like to see a view that gives me pertinent performance rankings and custom alerts for just this group of links.
Most of the network I'm monitoring is this network of microwaves, but there are many other links like fiber backhauls and other infrastructure and random other ports I'm not really interested in at all. I might want to have a separate group with similar requirements for the fiber backhauls for example. I'm trying to understand how I should best model this in SW. I don't think I can really manage this with node based organization. I feel like I want to make a group, and add all these links in as interfaces. Then, to start, I want to define a report with everything in the group. I'm finding it very slow and tedious just to find and look at these interfaces. How can I make it easier in the future to keep this list up to date as new links get added or deleted? I guess my first question is should I define all these links as one or more groups? Then can I generate reports simultaneously for every link in the group?
