Does Orion NPM 9.5 come shipped with anything having to do with SQL 2008?
the subject line is the question, thanks in advance
Can you expand on your question, it is a little vague. NPM has added support for SQL 2008 with the 9.5 release
my mistake not v9.5 but rather v9.1, thnaks again
was in on Saturday to do the Orion upgrade (v9.1 to v9.5), and install SQL Server 2005 on my computer and ran across a couple of issues. when Orion v9.1 was installed earlier this week, it automatically installed SQL Server 2008 parts, which I was unaware of. This caused problems when I went to do the SQL Server 2005 installation. I removed everything but SQL Server 2000, and not only did Orion start throwing all sorts of error messages, SQL Server 2005 continued to fail.
this is a portion of the original email, I was not the person doing the install
We just added support for SQL 2008 with 9.5, so I doubt we added SQL 2008 stuff as part of our 9.1 install. Is there anything else on that box? Did ya'll get past the issues and get upgraded to 9.5?
No the issue hasn't been resolved as of yet, were waiting on verification to do the install on seperate server rather than the box it is currently installed on. If/when this is ok'd I'll know more.
This more of a fact finding question than a tech question.
I'm pretty sure I may be reaching a little high here, is there any documentation from Solarwinds which can verify SQL 2008 parts are not included with v9.1 package? ie) a version history etc.
I too highly doubt that v9.1 came with anything having to do with SQL 2008 to me this simply doesn't make sense seeing...instinct is telling me the hammer is gonna fall on me in regards to doing the upgrade from v8.5.1 to v9.1, thanks.
The Release Notes document that SQL 2008 is supported beginning with 9.5. You can see the history of releases there, too, under Features in Previous Versions.
