Since most devices are now layer 3 and/or vlaned, you really need a resource that gives all the IP addresses assigned to a node, and the interface name associated. See this thread:

Hi Dan--
I've marked this for the PM to review.

Hi MarieB,
Has this been addressed yet. What we are looking for....or at least I am looking for is to add more details (like external IP's etc) under the Node Details section apart from the defaults that are listed when you add a device.
We would also love this feature. We currently get around it by showing a list of selected items from custom properties but its far from ideal.
Still something on our list. You should be able to create a UnDP to pull this and place on this page.
To be clear though, you want to see all other addresses on this device and the ability to search them etc.
Pardon jumping in but have asked for this forever ago...
You can get the IP address and interface number from one table, and get the interface name and description using the interface number in another table. We need to have the IP address, interface name, and description of every interface with an IP address.
The key feature would be for the discovery engine to NOT find one of the other IP addresses as a new device.
