Limit Account to Read Only of Node Status

Question

We want to create an account in Orion and give it permission only to read the status of nodes.  I see there is a program called "Account Limitation Builder".  I am not that familiar with Orion or this program.  How would I do limit an account in this way?

Or, is there an easier way to do this?

Thank you, neomatrix for your reply.  It was very informative, however it does not answer my specific inquiry.

We were able to create the local account and use it programmaticly without issue.  The problem is the account has access to much more than we want to give it.  All it needs to read from all nodes is their status (up, down, not responding, etc.).  Any other information it should not be able to see.  For example, the nodes have their circuit ID detailed.  This account should not be able to see this information (among others).

There must be a way to set this limit.

Hi Borgan,

Thank you for your reply, unfortunately user home pages will not work.  I should have explained further this account will actually only be used by another server and connected programmaticly.  So, we would need to define its rights rather explicitly.
