Temperature monitoring

I would like to know how do people monitor temperature on various devices?
Like APC UPS probs, Cisco routers ??
Also I have a AVTech RedAlert 7E device that monitors temperature and various sensors. I successfully added custom MIBs on it and assigned them to various gauge and other charts on the Orion website.
One of the issue is that the MIB for that device returns the temperature as an integer. For example, if the temperature is 21.45 Celsius, when I test the MIB, I get 2145. And of course this is repeated all the way to the web site and my gauges, even if they are readable, they look funny.
Is there a way I can use some math in the custom MIB so that it allows me to divide the result by 100 ?
Can I perhaps do this in the store procedure or view directly in the SQL db?
Thanks

Magman, were you able to divide your result by 100? I have some AVtech's I want to poll also but I have a four digit temp instead of a 2 digit.

You can't do any math on custom mib data yet.
It is high up on the roadmap

Yeah I brought this exact issue up with support/development alread and was told that they would work on it there are any number of MIBs that report things in ways you'd want to do some calculations on before they enter the database. The Timetick addition was a very quick modification Solarwinds made when I noticed that my APC UPSs where reporting things in 600ths of a second. I temps that I need to move one decimal place some I'd like to convert from Celcius to F on the fly so they all match, runtime calculations to take battery run time from seconds to hours and mintues. All sorts of things Currently there isn't a way to do that but I've been told they are working on it.
As to the question about Advanced Alerts you English wasn't all that clear so I'm not quite sure what you're asking but I have quite a few alerts set up based on temperature. And they definately work.

I am looking forward to the calculation feature as well since our Foundry switches return the temperature in 0.5 degree steps.
