Cisco WLC issue

Question

Hi,

I am running ORION NPM 9.5 SP2.

We have recently installed 4 Cisco Wireless LAN controllers. I can add these guys into ORION NPM no problem, they are detected and polling correctly. The problem i have is the with the "Wireless" part of NPM. When you select "Sort by controller" only one of the controllers is listed in the Group-by list. If i select "no-grouping" and choose "Show access points" at the top, I can view ALL of the wireless AP's that we have spread over the 4 controllers. It just doesn't seem to detect the other three controllers.

Also, if an AP is migrated from one controller to another, Orion keeps the existing record of it on the original controller and marks it as "red" - this makes it look like the AP is down when in fact it is marked as "Green" on another controller.

Anyone had any joy getting the Cisco WLCs and APs integrated in ORION?

Well, I just added a WLC to NPM 10 and I'm seeing the same thing..

It appears as a node in NPM but does not appear in the Wireless section.

Am I supposed to see the LWAPP APs the moment I add in the WLC, or do I have to add in the LWAPP APs individually as well?

It looks like we experienced your issue. We were able to add controllers with no problems on NPM. But when we go to the web and click on the wireless tab, only a few of our controllers showed up.  We upgraded to SP3 and that seemed to have resolved our issue, going to SP4 next week.

You may want to try SP3 or SP4.

Where an AP migrates from one controller to another, this is a known bug we are looking to address/fix.

Regarding the controllers not being detected properly, can you open a support ticket on it so we can see what is going on?
