Config Conflict Stackwise Virtual

I am running into an issue where a certain command is only showing on the running-configuration and is not present on startup-configuration for a Cisco Catalyst C9500. It is a pair of C9500-16s configured in a Stackwise Virtual (SVL) setup. Only the running-configuration shows the command 'stackwise-virtual link 1' on the VSS Link interfaces. The startup-configuration does not include this line in its output. This switch is always listed as having a conflict between startup and running configuration.

Looking to see if anyone has a similar situation.

You need to enable or create an exclude criteria.

Many Thanks for the exclude criteria documentation! I was able to create an expression to work for the stackwise-virtual command.

I have also come across another instance that may not be as straight forward for an exclude expression.

Again on a Catalyst C9500 running in Stackwise Virtual (SVL) setup. This time the startup-configuration is showing 'switchport' command on every layer 2 interface but it does not show in the running-configuration. This appears to be a known condition and is not considered a bug, CSCvy10780.

I don't think I would want to just exclude 'switchport' since that command is routinely seen all throughout Cisco configurations. I am curious if anyone has come across this as well and how it may have been handled to exclude.

Would ignoring lines with only this word be ok?

Try using ^switchport$ regex for this.
