Running config vs startup config

Hello,

I've got a question regarding NCM configuration download. For the time being my NCM deployment ic configured to download new running configuration once a week. Since the configuration on a switch port is changed every time the user connects and disconnects from the network (change is triggered by the NAC appliance which supports dynamic VLAN assignment) it's been decided that it would be better to download startup configuration instead of running configuration. Please tell me if and how such change can be made. Is it also possible to configure different time interval or not to download new configuration unless change has been made? Thank you in advance!

Just edit the download job and select "Startup" instead of "Running". And you could tick the box "Only save configs that have changed" so that it doesn't download duplicates.

Where can I find it? Is it in My Dashboards >> Network Configuration >> Jobs? I cannot see it there.

Yes, there it is @Michal83, edit the backup task that includes your backup nodes and in the fourth step you have those options

Yup alanmartinez_has shown where that option is found. I actually run 2 tasks. One for the startup and another for the running. I do the startup one first. Then on the running one, I compared it to the most recent startup config to determine if people are writing off the config.

And for changes to configs, I use the RTCD to receive emails instantly.
