When upgrading my Cirrus from v4.0 to v5.0, I ran into the following interesting issue. I copied the install file into a subfolder of the configuration manager install directory. When I ran the install it went very smoothly as it installed .NET and the other app it needed to install, however when it got to the part that installs the new Cirrus, it does a check of files that are open and it came up with "SolarWinds-Orion-NCM-V5.00-DL500.exe" which is the install file. If I hit retry, it came up with the same message. If I hit exit, it ended the installation without finishing the install. I moved the upgrade file to the "Program Files" directory and ran it again. This time, it installed just fine. Can someone explain why the location of the install file would matter?
Thanks,
Greg
