No SNMP Support Error When adding New Nodes

I recently upgraded Cirrus to version 3.5.1, and since the upgrade I can not get correct information from new nodes that I add. If I add a new node it detects the node and adds it to my node list, but doesn't bring any SNMP information in. If I look at the node details of the newly added node, it says "No SNMP Support". Has anyone run across this problem, if so how do I fix it.

A possible suggestion for when you see the "No SNMP Support" displayed on the device details - even though if you right click and select "Validate SNMP community string" the community string will validate.

1. Turn on node Monitoring (the little lightning bolt-like icon third from the left on the menu - wait some time while the nodes are discovered.)
2. Restart Cirrus - close and open
3. Wait until new device will be discovered

You don't have to leave node monitoring on - you just have to wake the application up - so to speak.

Mark thanks for the quick response, we can always count on you to come thru. However, I did try this and it did not work. Now in the past I have gone thru the sames steps of adding new nodes and had no problems. What I typically do, is just do an import from our Orion Database which has the most current inventory for our stuff. After the import the nodes are added directly to Cirrus with names, and SNMP information, and evertyhing works fine. Now, after the upgrade/reinstall it is not doing this, I am puzzled.

Try turning it off
and on a few times and then add a new node with it on. It sounds far fetched,
but I think it will work. I'll do some more research on my end to see if this is a known issue.

Ok Mark. I turned off node monitoring then I turned it back on. After I turned it back on, I try adding a node. The node im adding is a Cisco Catalyst 6509 which was recently added to our network, the SNMP string is our standard across the network. When I put the IP address all test past and it looks like it work, however, when I go to find the node it just says 192.168.249.10 (Where it should show the hostname of the node) and is thrown into the unkown group. If I look at the node details it says "No SNMP Support".

Any other ideas, sitting on the edge of my seat.

I got the same problem and it was resolve by turning on the monitoring. I hope that a fixe will be release soon, because I could not work with the monitoring on ^^
