Hello, I am tryign to download the config from a Nortel switch, which requires CTRL-Y to be pressed after telnetting in, after the banner but before username and password is put in. I have added the following line to the device template for nortel as per the admin guide: However, when testing log in when adding a node it says "Login failed at banner". Not to worry, appears to be working fine now, had to edit my reset line to read # "terminal length 0" Thanks for your help

Hi there, I have now upgraded to latest version, still having some problems, though at least we're passed the CTRL-Y bit! It seems to stuck when i need to hit space to show more. Any ideas?[View:/cfs-file.ashx/__key/CommunityServer.Components.UserFiles/00.00.03.53.60/10.57.252.99_2D00_trace.txt]

Downloading config on Nortel's (4526GTX) with CTRL-Y

Hello,

I am tryign to download the config from a Nortel switch, which requires CTRL-Y to be pressed after telnetting in, after the banner but before username and password is put in.

I have added the following line to the device template for nortel as per the admin guide:

However, when testing log in when adding a node it says "Login failed at banner".

I have attached the log, if anyone can decipher where i am going wrong.

It's a little confusing, but the default delay is already 3 seconds. So, by specifying Delay="3" you are actually saying delay for 6 seconds which is probably why this times out. Also, it doesn't look like your RegEx has a capital "Y" as shown in the session trace.

Can you try changing it the following:

definately a little confusing haha.

I moved copied your line into my template, however it threw an error "Unable to locate or error loading device template: C:\Program Files\SolarWinds\Configuration Management\DeviceTypes\Precommand Nortel Passport"

Now, even when i put my old commands back in, i get that same error. Only way to get it not to give that error is go back to the default template for Nortel. This however still gives the banner log in error

When you get that error, it's likely because you have a missing > or /> or " or there's an extra character somewhere in the template. Try editing in notepad to ensure that your editor isn't throwing special formatting characters into the file.

Actually, if you wouldn't mind, just attach your updated template to your post and I can look at it really quick.

This one gives me the error about "unable to locate or error loading"
