Cirrus 3.5.1 cisco devices

Hi,

I have installed Cirrus 3.5.1, my problem is the application retrieves wrong machine type for all Cisco 1700, 1800, 3800, and also cisco fixed switches like Cisco 3560, 2950 and also Cisco aironet Access Points 1242.

I'm using cirrus alone. I.e. not installed Orion

Please help!

Numerous machine type descriptions were updated in the Cirrus v4.0 release. I recommend upgrading to this release.

I've installed v4 and for our 2960's and 3560's we're still seeing Cisco as the Machine Type and this is absolutely useless when we run a lot of our scripts based on the Machine Type.

For those having issues with devices showing up as "unknown" or incorrectly identified, we need to add these devices to our SysObjectID database for Cirrus. Our goal is to add these for v4.0 SP1, so please reply to this post with the devices you need recognized.

Here's what we need to add your devices:

1) SysObjectID (see Inventory tab in Cirrus and select "System Info" drop-down)

2) Vendor

3) Model

4) Is it showing up as "unknown" or incorrectly identified

Wouldn't it be quicker to just take the SysObjectID database that already exists within Orion/Toolsets?

I don't think this would work as I get the same problem in Orion, the Cisco 2960 and 3560's machine type shows as Cisco.

The only reason I haven't logged a call for Orion is that its not a problem in Orion whereas we use it in Cirrus to determine switch type.
