NPM/NCM Integration

Question

We currently have NPM 8.5, and are looking at NCM 5.0.

From what I can gather it looks like I need to be at NPM 9.0 for the products to integrate fully.

The question I have is from the database perspective.  We currently have NPM utilyzing a MS-SQL database on a SQL clustered environment.  When we go to install NCM, will the NCM install use the same database with new tables, or are the databases not shared between the products?

Thanks Mark for the reply.

We are not quite ready to upgrade NPM because of the hardware constraints on the current platform.  We will probably just go ahead and run NCM standalone and get our feet wet, and reinstall after the upgrade of NPM.

You will need to upgrade to Orion v9 first. NCM will still leverage it's own database, but we've included a NPM import job which will allow you to keep your nodes in synch.  That is, if you add a node or change a custom property through NPM, those changes will be automatically imported in NCM.
