Windows 2008 Known Issue with Scheduled Jobs

Question

In the 5.5.1 release notes, there's a caveat that says:

"
 By default, Windows 2008 sets scheduled tasks to run only when the user context it is set to run under is logged on and requires Windows credentials for every change. Any job changes made through the NCM client application may require the entering of credentials on the Security tab prior to saving."

Not being a server geek, is there some method to change the default behavior of this so it works again? Otherwise I have to leave a logged-in session running to get my change detection working?

Can you verify that you entered appropriate Windows credentials for RTCD?

File > Settings > Realtime Change Detection > Config Change Settings

Also, what method are you using to launch the config auto download process (Syslog, Trap)?

That works for scheduled jobs but not for the configuration change alert.... as they're isn't a scheduled job.

You may try this suggestion-

* Click Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Task Scheduler.
* Right-click your Orion NCM job, and then click Properties.
* Click Run whether user is logged on or not.
