Exactly what devices are supported?
skaczkowski
All,
I can't for the life of me find a list of devices that Cirrus actually supports. In the tech docs it says it supports Cisco, HP, etc, but says nothing about what specific models of anything is supported..
Or is Cirrus just that smart and is able to deal with everything?
Thanks..

*Anything* that supports telnet and SSH can be put into Cirrus. Cirrus does have some pre-configured Device Templates for device manufacturers such as Cisco (IOS and CatOS), HP, Juniper (JUNOS and NetscreenOS), Foundry, and many others. It is not difficult to create a new device template, either, should you have a device that isn't one of the pre-configured manufacturers. I've even been successful in backing up config files from Linux servers.
Let's say that you have a NOC Monkey who can read through a list of devices, telnet into them, and do a 'show run' (or similar command). He then records those configurations in a text file. If you so wish, you can have this NOC Monkey alert you whenever he notices a change to any device config. That NOC Monkey is Cirrus. That's all it is from a configuration backup point of view. There are other features in Cirrus that go beyond a simple config backup utility, that from a security and policy perspective, might make it worth the purchase for your company.
EDIT: It looks like you already have Cirrus, according to your previous posts. Please excuse the above response if this isn't exactly what you were looking for.

Yes, we currently do own Cirrus and just wasn't quite sure of all the devices it could talk to..
