Remove Legacy Collector

Question

Due to the new Windows 2003 requirements of NTA 2.0, I've recently rebuilt my original NPM (i.e. was running NTA 1.0 on Windows 2000).

As a result, my NetFlow Traffic Analysis Summary page "/TrafficAnalysis/View.asp?View=NetFlowSummaryView" shows a "Down" collector" (that no longer exists) and I'd like to remove it....how/where do I go to get rid of this?

[Old Message Alert] This message was still helpful after 10 years. So, I'm replying with additional info incase anyone else needs it.

I just had a decommissioned Polling Engine which refused to delete from All Settings >> Polling Engines >> Delete Unused Polling Engine. I tried deleting directly from Engines table, but it still refused because it was in the VoipEngines Table. So, I showed the tables with "Engines" in the title, then reviewed the records, then deleted the rows.

Side Note: I had installed NTA after I had decommissioned the Polling Engine. Conveniently, the NTA Engines tables did not list the old engine, so I did not need to delete any rows from those tables.

Here are the lines I used to review the tables:

SELECT * FROM dbo.AllEngines
SELECT * FROM dbo.AllEnginesOld
SELECT * FROM dbo.Engines
SELECT * FROM dbo.EnginesOld
SELECT * FROM dbo.VoipEngines
SELECT * FROM dbo.flowEngines
SELECT * FROM dbo.NetFlowEnginesStatistic

Here is the row in Engines table pertaining to the retired engine:

I noted the Engine ID was 2. Some of the other tables refer to EngineID, not by ServerName. Here are the rows I used to delete the APE from the database:

delete from dbo.VoipEngines where VoipEngineID = '2'
delete from dbo.Engines where ServerName = 'SWPOLL02
delete from dbo.AllEngines where ServerName  = 'SWPOLL02'
delete from dbo.AllEnginesOld where ServerName  = 'SWPOLL02'

Then I went back into All Settings >> Polling Engines and happily noted that the polling was now gone. Thanks for posting the answer some 10 years ago.

DELETE FROM VoIPengines where servername='collector'

From SQL Studio Express. Replace collector with the collector name you want to zap but leave the single quotes
