IPAM address search is unusable

Question

Why is the search tool in IPAM so bad?  When I search for an IP in Manage Nodes, the results comes back in a second or two.  When I search for an IP in IPAM Manage Subnets, it grinds for 30 seconds, and often doesn't return anything.  What I really want is to search for an IP, and it be found on the main Manage Subnets page, highlighting the subnet in the left pane, and highlighting the IP in question in the right pane.

Does this search work for anyone?

Your reply went into my outlook junk folder.  :-(.

The manage nodes searches the NPM database attribute which is lightening fast.  The search in IPAM searches the IPAM IP addresses, which isn't properly indexed, or has some other problem.

I'd love to discuss our use of IPAM and issues.

Hi Smartd,

two things here:

- based on what you wrote, you are saying that if you do a search for particular IP you get different results based on from where you are trying to do a search?

- If you are not happy about UI how we display the search results would you be willing to jump into a short call with me and member of our UX team so we can process your feedback?
