NPM Email Alert not sending

Sep-21 10:36:09.41 : 1344 : The message could not be sent to the SMTP server. The transport error code was 0x80040217. The server response was not available.

Does anyone have a clue what is wrong? Network Monitor is sending emails without issue but Network Performance Monitor is not.
