Comments 'View More' is Frustrating

Trying not to make this a complaint thread, as I know moving to a new platform was a lot of work.

Finding the 'View More' at the bottom of most threads is very frustrating to work with.  The main reason I come to THWACK is to view the comments, and not seeing most of them makes the product frustrating to work with.

With the monthly mission threads that get very long, even holding down the 'end' key to get everything to load does not always work efficiently and takes a lot of time.  When you post or reload the page, you have to repeat this process repeatedly.

Is there any option to disable this or force it to load everything?

  • Kevin has covered this in previous threads I believe. The reason we don't enable endless scroll is because it would slow down the page and make it that much more frustrating for users. We're likely to lose engagement if it takes twice as long to load the page so you can understand why from a UX/UI perspective we're not open to turning this on. When it comes to the monthly mission comments, I understand your frustration, but the best recommendation I can make is to go to the top of the comments and switch it to Newest. This way you can make sure you have the latest comments on the thread and you don't miss anything. Yes, you will have to do this every time you load the page, but it's byfar the easiest way to stay updated.
