What are the default WMI counter solarwinds using to fetch from windows
Hello - I need to get our Windows credentials to a place of least privilege (remove from Domain Admins etc.). I think that I can do this with service account/groups and GPO. My question is: Can I replace WMI Windows server polling with WinRM? or do I need to use WMI for NPM and WinRM for SAM?
Hi guys! I looked all over, but couldn't find info about required permissions to setup an WMI-monitoring of network interfaces and windows tasks without local admin rights. Articles: How to configure WMI with minimum required user permissions, Tips for creating a non-administrator user for SAM application Could you help me…
Currently polling a lot of internal servers using WMI and a couple of remote servers using the agent. So far, the agent is working great for the remote sites, but are there any performance gains for running the agent locally to collect information versus having WMI polling on a node straight from the Orion server?
I am mainly a Unix System Admin that has now implemented NPM and SAM on AIX and Solaris nodes. My company also produces Windows software and I am now tasked with adding monitors for those servers. The only local nodes to the Orion server are the Orion server itself and the firewall. Everything else is on remote sites and…
I like to monitor my network infrastructure end to end. This also includes my Server Systems which are monitored by WMI. NPM is a powerfull Tool to Monitor Network infrastructure performance. But without getting Data from my Windows machines interfaces I do not have a real Perfromance Monitoring. For Network Performance…
Hi, I have few devices that do not answer to ICMP . this devices work with WMI or SNMP and the pull is working good but the status is always DOWN. is it a way to set them up only by SNMP or WMI?
Some of our VM are monitored in Soalrwinds using ICMP. But still seeing failed login form one of Soalrwinds "Manage Windows Credential" user. We just use NPM to manage VM. There is no template assigned to any VM. Could you please help in understanding why Solarwinds is trying to login. As it's creating a Security event,…
We have lateley seen several servers with svchost processes consuming 1GB or more memory. The first process identified was for Remote Registry. The Remote Registry component monitor was one of the monitors enabled in the Windows 2003-2008 template. Once we disabled the monitor (and restarted the service), this issues has…
Question when you change a node from SNMP to WMI or vice versa Solarwinds warns that you will lose any historical or monitoring data. Does this wipe everything out and start over with no data or does it keep some of the data? We are working on setting up standards in our environment and I just need to figure out what is…
