Hi, I work for an MSP that has a centralized SoalrWinds platform which monitors our customers environments which are all reached via a site to site VPN. We are trying to setup our alerting so that if the VPN to the customer does down we don't get flooded with alerts for every node. Where we manage the firewall at the…
Hello, We would like to accumulate alert flood we have sometimes with use of dependencies. I know we should set only one parent node to one or more child objects but is it possible to have it like virtual parent object, kind of folder which doesn't contain any actual nodes. Example structure could be like : Parent :…
I'm still very new to Orion. We are transitioning off of WhatsUp Gold to Solarwinds. I am in the process of setting up dependencies for all our network devices. Most of it is pretty straightforward, but I am lost when it comes to wireless. In WhatsUp, we had each individual AP added as a node, so we could go into the…
Check and prevent a object instance (node or group/container) from being configured to be a parent of its parent. We're looking to check for a top-down hierarchy that prevents a child from becoming a parent to an object somewhere up the hierarchy. Please see attachment for illustration.
I have been searching for a bit now, and have not come to find a fix for this. For some reason the groups in Solarwinds do not update and therefore the dependencies do not work correctly. The dependencies themselves work when tested by manually shutting down a node near the time of the dependency creation. When you look at…
I've been creating dependencies and noticed that they are showing up on the home page in the order I created them. How can I display this list of dependencies in Alphabetical order? Please keep in mind that SQL is not yet my strong point.
Is there a variable in NPM where I can get the parent node/group name of a node goes that into 'Unreachable' status? I'm trying to add a simple line to our alert emails like this: Parent Node: ${parentNodeName} I know I can do this with a SQL query in SWQL: SELECT Caption FROM Orion.Nodes as n JOIN Orion.Dependencies as d…
Hi, Whilst I like the Auto-Dependencies feature, I feel it can be improved further to provide us with more information without drilling into the resources on the console to find out information. At the moment if you have Switch 1 with 20 interfaces that each have a device connected the "Auto-Dependencies" feature will map…
If you don't have groups set up to create dependencies its a little annoying to have to create a tiny group just to put behind one parent node. It would be nice if we could, in the event we can't justify making a group for 2-3 nodes, select multiple nodes as children w/o having to create a group for them, Thanks!
Would like to see an additional field against devices where you can log specific dependencies, i.e. this server must be rebooted after that server, can only be rebooted after 6pm on a Saturday etc. These entries should be permanent unless deleted or edited, and be able to exported out into Excel or similar so a hard copy…
