I would like to see that thin access point could be manage more like nodes so you can populate them to groups, set dependencies, custom properties, create better alerting etc. for them. The solution today for thin access points is a bit thin and it feels like you always ends up with the conclusion that I can't solve my…
I am trying to set up my NPM to monitor my Extreme Networks wireless system. The NPM sees the 2 controllers as regular nodes but views them as autonomous APs in the wireless module. It does not see the APs, clients or other statistics associated with the wireless system. Has anyone had any success setting up the wireless…
We built out a few wireless heat maps when we first built out our Solarwinds environment a few months ago. Since then we've decided to build out maps for all of our locations. That's when we found that the maps we'd built earlier were no longer displaying in the web console, other than the thumbnail images. The maps work…
I've been wading through the morass of instructions on how to get the wireless heat map functioning to no avail. Frankly, I'm really disappointed in how difficult this is proving to be. Just for one example, the manual mentions a "generate" button in Network Atlas which is nowhere to be found. Does anybody have it working?…
Hi, These HP 830 Wireless LAN switches are not currently supported in the Wireless feature extension in Orion NPM. There is an extensive MIB structure for these devices (submitted to SolarWinds already under case 887700) and it appears as though all metrics can be mapped. thanks
The report from Orion Report Writer "Top 25 Wireless Clients by Traffic Rates over the Last 7 Days" shows great information about users registered on Wireless LAN Controllers (e.g. Model = Cisco 5500 Series Wireless Controller). Unfortunately though, each user is identified by MAC address, so it is very hard to quickly use…
Has anyone successfully set up CPU and Memory monitors on a Meru Controller? I have a list of Meru MIB's but it doesn't seem that any of them refer to CPU or Memory Utilization. Most of my Meru controllers are Meru MC4200's. Thanks for any help! http://www.dit.co.jp/support/meru_networks/pdf/SNMP_OID_rev3.pdf
Hi, Just duplicating my query which I had posted earlier in an old discussion. I have started managing a new bank network and trying to implement some new methods for monitoring and alerting through Solarwinds NPM 11.0 version. We have a Wireless Network where they have deployed Cisco 5500 Wireless Controllers with…
