Right now in SolarWinds NPM, most of the alerts are threshold-based. Either we set static thresholds or use dynamic baselines, but in both cases we end up getting too many false positives or sometimes even missing real issues. In modern networks (hybrid, cloud, SD-WAN, etc.) traffic patterns are not always predictable. A…
What I'd like to propose is that we are able to do a list resources for similar hardware at the same time, so that we can add a checkbox for a particular type of resource to be enabled across all of that hardware. Example: Say you are intending to do list resources for 8 Windows 2008 servers, or 8 Colubris controllers.…
I think it would be beneficial to sort nodes in the "Manage Nodes" page to show nodes that were added in the last day, two days, or seven days. It would improve the import process a whole lot if you could select all of your newest nodes at once and assign custom properties, change polling settings, etc. all in one swing.
I've noticed that when you select List Resources on a node in Manage Nodes that the interfaces are not listed in alphabetical or numerical order. They are listed in whatever order the modules were added in. So for example if you have a 4506 switch with modules 2, 4 & 5 already in NPM, when you add in a module into slot 3,…
It would be nice to have a setting that would allow me to display all Nodes in UPPERCASE in the "Manage Nodes" view.
Would like to see a better method of importing nodes into NPM/NCM en masse. Today, I only see an "import custom property values" option for existing nodes. I would ideally like to see some sort of CSV/XLS template that could be used to import nodes + custom property values. Use case: Export all CI's from an ITIL CMDB tool…
When I go to "Manage Nodes" - Every time I log in, or any of my team members log in, we need to choose our column items. Is there a way to set the default column items for manage nodes? Any help would be appreciated. Chris
I have recently started a new role within a new company, upon checking their license situation I have noticed that we are monitoring a whole host of interfaces on devices that we don't need - floppy drives, disk drives, virtual memory etc. As far as I can see I have to go into Settings > Manage Nodes and select each of…
If anyone has added the "Manage Nodes" option to one of their menu bars, has it disappeared? I added "Manage Nodes" to my Network tab and it's gone. Also, when I try to add it back to a menu bar, it's not an available option to add under Customize Menu Bars.
Currently only some of the managed resources are listed when expanding the monitored components. Include ALL managed resources. Examples are Route Table, Asset Inventory, Topology: Layer 2, Topology Layer 3, Hardware Health Sensors.
