Why cant we have a new component monitor to existing SAM components which would check for a specific pattern on a File (especially for Windows)? It could be similar to 'Windows Event log monitor' or a better example would be 'File Existence Monitor'. For custom logs on Windows servers we will either need to go with Windows…
Basically exactly as the title states. Believed it was just my browser but checked with a few colleagues and they to have noticed this issue. IT MAY be down to IE 10 and 11 as Chrome seems to be working with no issue. Page Refresh time is set to 3 minutes within Web Console settings. Anyone else experiencing this issue?
Trying to create a windows script monitor (VBS) , script looks fine but when I try and execute the same I get the below mentioned error:C:\ProgramData\SolarWinds\Orion\temp\b4f2d60d-d381-453d-b9e3-a3c3b39edaf6(119, 17) Microsoft VBScript runtime error: Path not found What could be the reason for the same ?
When I add a new component monitor to my template, I will have to test the same and when I click on "Set Test Node" it would open up a "Node Dialog" where in which I have to use the best "Group By" possible and drill down to the node - on which I would like to test my monitor, why can't Node Dialog contain a search field ?
Hi, Using the scheduled task monitor, I am unsure if it is possible to alert on a task which has run for a specific time, e.g. if a task state is running and has been running for more than [say] 1 hour. Is this possible in SAM 6.1.1 or is this a feature request in the making? Garreth
I was upgrading from 6.01 to 6.1 and the Configuration Wizard failed displaying the following error. Error while executing script- Sub query returned more than 1 value. This is not permitted when the sub query follows =, !=, <, <= , >, >= or when the sub query is used as an expression.
OK, so I've got my wildcard and variable working in my individual file monitors (see Wildcard in middle of File Exist Monitor?). My question now is, since there are 650 client folders that I want to monitor, what's the best practice for doing this? Is 650 too many for a single application monitor? Should I break them down…
I know that I can use a wildcard in a File Exist monitor in SAM. Can I use that wildcard in the middle of the path instead of just the end? For example: I know this works: \\Server\Share\Subfolder\* Will this work? \\Server\Share\*\Subfolder\* If not, is there a way around this limitation? I have an FTP folder named…
I've recently upgraded the Server & Application Monitor to version 6.1.0 and introduced AppInsight for Exchange to my SolarWinds environment. In my environment, I have two Exchange 2010 Database Availability Group (DAGs). One of the DAGs are in my local DataCenter and the other is across the country in a remote DataCenter.…
Would it be possible to get the documentation for SAM udpated? Page 118 of the SAM 6.1 Administrator's Guide says to use the Database Manager to backup the database. That functionality hasn't been in the DBM for over a year. (Actually, I'm not sure why the DBM still exists since it's not much use for anything since its…
