Installing Orion Network Performance Manager

Question

If i wanted to monitor the traffic of a virtual Vmware host-only network where would i install orion?

Would it be on the host machine or on a virtual machine, also would i have to create this monitoring system on an additional interface or could i place it on one of the existing ones used for the network?

It really depends on how robust your VMWare intstallation is.  We run our Orion servers as VM's and they work great.  If you've got a HA setup and use VMotion and all the other little tools that VMWare has it might be fine for you to install as a VM.  If you want to be able to monitor to tell if things go down then you may want seperate hardware dedicated to Orion.

Not sure exactly what you mean by the above sentence. Can you provide more info?
