Any ideas how I might handle this alert?

I have an alert for Up/Down on systems - Down 5 min. Alert for between 7am-7pm and then another Down 30 min. Alert for between 7pm-7am.

My question is this, if any systems remain down on the 5 min. alert during the day hours and so when 7pm rolls around, how can I suppress this 7pm Text-Message alert?

The only way I have found is to create a simple alert that creates a custom property for all down nodes and have that simple alert run right before second the advanced alert (which suppresses upon seeing the custom property).
