Network Performance Monitor (NPM)
Some Application monitors don't display CPU/Memory
jsanto
I currently have Orion moitoring about 80 processes on several servers. Only about 60 of them show actual CPU & Memory statistics, others only display up/down status. How can I get all of them to show CPU/memory?
Any help would be great.

The server that you are trying to poll CPU on might not have SNMP enabled or do
not
support the Host Resources MIB Table.
If they do then verify all of you community strings and this should theoraticly work.

I was able to open the resource MIB for the server I'm targeting in a real-time graph, but in the "All Applications" resource it still doesn't show CPU or memory usage. I verified the SNMP community is correct as well. The specific services that I'm monitoring are SQL server; SQL Agent and Apache.exe.

I am trying to see if the Application monitor is somethign we woudl like to use at my company, we are a citrix Shop primarily, but as of now now matter which server I monitor I cannot see any cpu or mem usage on any machine.. whether it be Windows 2000 server, XP Pro, or Server 2k3 ....
help ?
Oh btw the non existant CPU and MEM usage is only on the applications. the rest of Orion is working ok

Using the app monitor I can get the app memory stats but no CPU stats for that app or any app for that matter. In the App Monitor manager I made sure I had the options selected to collect both the cpu and memory usage. Been running the App eval for 24 hours now and no CPU usage collected for any apps.

Btw, I have the latest patches and just got the eval from sales yesterday so I know that's current also. I just restarted the Orion server for the thrill of it to see if that helps.

FYI - Installed the new build and now I get CPU and Memory for all applications. I didn't see anything about that in the release notes, maybe the engine just needed to be restarted. Thanks to all who replied.
