Hey eveyone so we are about to do an upgrade on our Orion server and i was wondering how long i need to allow for this.. i was thinking like 4 hrs just to be sure everything works and with testing, but how long does the upgrade part really take?
Seems to vary from my point of view, I've had upgrades take 30 minutes and i have had upgrade take 5 minutes. I tend to be fairly aggressive though with my upgrades so when I do I am not installing multiple patches at a time.
is that just NCM or the entire upgrade. and yeah i try not o do mulitple patching but have been pushed back so much that now i have to do NCM, NPM, and UDT thats why im curious on how long it will take.
I seem to remember the jump from NCM 6.x to 7.x being somewhat long, nothing over an hour or anything. I don't think you are going to need a 4 hour window but better safe then sorry, if its a situation where you are going to get chewed out for going over a timeframe dont take the word of a green alien off the internet as fact.
yeah they get a little angry faced when we go over so we just push it out to an un-godly amount of time. thanks for the help though im gonna guess about an hour per upgrade and hope for the best.
