How to check the events for a particular interface in a node or log of a particular interface in a router in NPM

Dear sir

I am very much thankful to all the members for their cooperation in solving my problems. I can check for all the events for a particular node by clicking the events button. But i am unable to check it for a particular interface of that node. Currently my node(router) has around 30 interfaces and by clicking events button it shows me events for all the interfaces but i want to check for a particular interface log. How can it be done.

if the description of the interface is unique, you could filter on the name/description of the interface?

Yes the description of the interface is unique but i don't now the SQL command to filter the desired one. Kindly explain the command.

Hi,

I created a report you can use:

if you open it in report writer you have a tab to filter data, the top condition does not have a checkmark, check it and change the text to something your interface would have as description and let the report run.

another and in my view better alternative is to go to web view of that interface, customize it, add Event Summary to the view and you will see a summary of events filtered automatically for each interface (no matter which interface you view, it will always show you the summary of only the interface you are looking at)

Dear Sir

I have tried the another alternative as suggested by you and as below:

1)Clicked on a particular interface say "A". A web page is opened.

2)After its web page is opened i clicked on Edit button of "Event Summary for this "A" interface".There 2 fields were present 1) Title as "Event Summary For This Interface " and 2nd time period.

3) I selected time period as 24 hours and press submit

4)I am directed back to webpage of step no 1

5) Here it shows in the Event Summary For This Interface that one interface is UP and one interface is Down and when i click on "one interface is Down" hyperlink then a new webpage is opened. There it shows events of all interfaces of the concerned router. This page also does not have any feature of sorting by interface. No interface wise filter option is present here. We can select node and event type but interface wise filtering option is not present.

Thus I am unable to get events of a particular interface. Kindly help
