TAP Pager Interface

Question

We want Orion to do the "old style" TAP paging in case email gets toasted. Does anyone know any TAP software that works with Orion and modems?

I just set up pagegate in about 15 minutes. It was very simple and I used the getasci interface. I didn't need to do anything in Orion other than setup the alert to page after setting up Pagegate. Plus pagegate runs as a service where Notepager pro is an application that has to be running to work correctly.

I will say that both Solar Winds and Notepage have poor documention when it comes to setting up the integration of the two products (or I could not find it on their sites). I got assistance by e-mailing support at Notepage. I worked with Jeremy at Notepage and he was a great help and answered all of my questions.  I am going to see if he is willing to update this thread furhter.

Notepage has a modem paging software package that integrates well with Orion. They have a page describing how to integrate their package with Orion and links to download a trial.

Notepager Pro is only $29.95, but I'm not sure if it supports TAP. PageGate (another Notepage product) supports TAP, but it is much more difficult to setup. To get PageGate to integrate with Orion, the Execute an External Program Alert Action has to be used, and command line parameters have to be passed. Notepager Pro is much easier to setup with Orion because it has direct integration. 
 
I would give the Notepager Pro trial version a try first to see if it can handle what you're looking for. 
 
*Note: The trial version of NotePager Pro has a popup screen showing how many days are left in the trial. This popup stops Notepager Pro until the OK button is clicked. To avoid the popup, start Notepager Pro before configuring the Alert, close the popup, and keep it running in the system tray. As long as the application is already running, the popup is not displayed when an Alert Action is activated. 
 
You will want to configure Notepager first. After successfully sending a test page using their software, configure an Orion Alert to use the Dial Paging or SMS Service Alert Action.
